My Closet is a Work in Progress
June is quickly approaching, but I'm in no hurry. Here on the Closet Blog, I'm declaring a month of JANE—a series of storage tips from my own closet!
I love experimenting with new products and ideas, so my closet system is always a work in progress. This series will show you the tools I'm currently using to stay organized, and how I share the space with my husband. (Teaser: His side of the closet looks completely different from mine, but not in ways you might expect!)
Storage Ideas for Off-Season Clothes
Recently, I swapped out my scarves and sandals to stage my shopping zone for summer.
During winter, I store my scarves in wire baskets at the bottom of my closet, and my sandals in a storage box high on a shelf. As the seasons change, I switch them so I can easily access what I’ll be wearing now. A closet system with built-in flexibility helps you maximize convenience and enjoyment in your closet all year.
I selected attractive storage boxes for this task, so I don't mind displaying them on my closet shelving and shoe rack.
Hangers for Slacks, Jeans and T-Shirts
I hang slacks, jeans and T-shirts next to my shoe rack. I use felt hangers for my pants and simple plastic hangers for my T-shirts. No clothes hanger can meet every storage need—here are the four types of hangers I use in my closet.
